I would like to preface my comment/question by saying I know nothing about SAKs other than what I’ve read on your blog and other various websites over the last few hours.
I recently found a band new, never used or even unwrapped SAK – Officier Suisse – Tinker (I only know to call it this because I finally found this blog-Thank You!!).
The knife itself was wrapped in tissue paper. It’s original packaging was a tin box that also containes a plastic compass/ruler combo.
This SAK, however, has a round gold emblem embedded below the Victorinox sheild & cross logo. The logo and emblem are roughly the same size. The emblem has a design of a large ‘Y’ that repeats 4x (I’m not sure I’m explaining it correctly). I can not find any information on this specific emblem design or even a matching picture.
I’m hoping you can shed some light on my discovery. Could this be some sort of personalization specific to the purchaser?
I’m excited to hear any information you may have! I can send you pictures if you’re interested.
Thank you for your time and your blog!
Leigh
