658. Spartan PS (white)

Besides changes in 111-mm series, in 2017 Victorinox has announced several “new” knives. It was a habitual Spartan,… but with black-coated tools. This time it wasn’t a black-oxide coating, but something new chemical process (named as Inox-Spectral ®). Two versions of Spartan were released as part of this series – with white and black scales. Now let’s review a first one..

560. Sentinel Black-Oxide

The Victorinox Sentinel Black-Oxide model is a rare variation of popular Sentinel model. Accordingly to the SAKWiki:
The Black-Oxide Sentinel Clip (0.8416.M3) was first introduced in the special limited edition Victorinox Military Collector’s Set 2010. This All Black / Blackout version features black-oxide coated blade, liners, spring, keyring, and clip with black Nylon scales. The blade is one-hand opening with a plain-edge and a standard v-grind. Knives that were produced as part of the collection are numbered. A limited number of knives produced for sale in Europe outside of the collection are not numbered.

465. Fireman OH (Black Oxide)

Victorinox Fireman is a 4-layers 111-mm knife. It was produced with regular and one-hand blade. Additionaly, version with OH serrated blade (because version with OH plain blade also was available in US market!) has a “limited” series – Black Blade, where main blade was black-oxide coated.
