659. Classic SD

Few days ago I’ve published article about “unknown” edition of Classic SD. Approximately in 10 minutes after I’ve shared post on Facebook, I got an answer about knife’s model. Maybe this time I’ll be lucky too? (by the way, I have few other Classics, which still not identified…)
Update: It’s an Classic SD Argyle from LE2010. Thanks, Irineo Reyes!

658. Spartan PS (white)

Besides changes in 111-mm series, in 2017 Victorinox has announced several “new” knives. It was a habitual Spartan,… but with black-coated tools. This time it wasn’t a black-oxide coating, but something new chemical process (named as Inox-Spectral ®). Two versions of Spartan were released as part of this series – with white and black scales. Now let’s review a first one..

655. Classic SD

Victorinox Classic SD, – this one looks like limited edition, but still cannot identify to which run it belongs. Any ideas?
Update: It’s a Classic SD Fern, produced (probably) before 2010. Many thanks to Nemanja Dodić for extra-fast support with identifying!

649. Watch case opener

Not so popular, but anyway interesting model – Watch case opener. It was produced in Alox scales either neylon and cellidor (current one).
Interesting fact: special blade for opening watch cases is present only in this model and Swiss Champ XAVT / XXLT.

639. Special Pioneer X – VSAKCS 2016

Few years before, in 2016 Victorinox company realized a long-waited desire (I could say – obsession, but I wouldn’t) of hundreds people. They’re realized an Alox model with scissors (first one after vintage Voyager!) − Pioneer X.
Moreover, the same model was released as Damast knife of the Year soon after this. So, we had two new knives for this year. Is it enough? For sure − no, and specially for VSAKC society as model of the year was released ‘light’ version of  the same knife. It was called a Special Pioneer X and was thinner for few millimeters due to removed openers layer.
Stop talking, let’s see the pictures of this beauty..

636. Pioneer (Dark Gray)

Victorinox Pioneer model with Dark Gray colored scales. Seems, this model was produced specially for US market (but I’m not sure, if you have some information about it – please share it with me).
P.S. In order to show difference between this shade of gray with regular black, I’ve added few comparative pictures below.

624. Spartan (Unspunnenfest commemorative)

In the end of summer 2017, specially for Unspunnenfest, Victorinox company released a limited run of Spartan model with unusual ‘3D-textured‘ scales, which are looks closely similar to natural stone (as main symbol of mentioned festival).
It wasn’t a first time when such type of scales were produced, but everything looks like we’ll see this type of scales more often starting from this year (White Christmas Explorer 2017, for instance).
