627. Angler Plus

The Victorinox Angler Plus – it’s an one from rare and vintage models, which were produced only during a relatively short period in the past. There are no too much information about this model, I don’t remember any official catalog with information about it. SAKWiki also still doesn’t have information about this knife (I’ve added this model to the full list, but didn’t created a new dedicated page yet).
So, Angler Plus – technically looks like regular Angler model plus additional wood-saw. Current one is a pretty vintage one with old-fashion awl and shackle.

439. Helmsman

Victorinox Helmsman is a 3-layers 111-mm knife with unusual (for this form-factor) blue color of scales and white print of wind rose.

First version of Helmsman had usual red scales without any print and was known as Mariner (I’m still looking for this model for reasonable price, by the way!).

This knife contains unique tool which was designed specially for marine usage –  Shackle Opener with Marlinspike.

My variation of knife has partially serrated blade, version with fully serrated blade also exists and known as Helmsman CS (unofficial name).

418. Wenger Soldat 1961 – Swiss Army 70 (no year stamp)

When I bought this knife, I thought – it will be probably only one Wenger in my collections.
Reasons? It’s a real Swiss Army Knife 🙂
As I remember, initially, when I’ve started to organize my collection, I’ve decided to collect only Victorinox knives, otherwise it could absolutely destroy my budget (and honestly, I prefer Victorinox knives mush more than Wenger ones).
When Victorinox company bought Wenger it was first unpleasant sign for me. Later (~ in 2014) Delemont series was introduced – another one. After releasing Wenger RangerWood as limited model for 2015 year, I can be absolutely sure – Wenger, you shall not pass (©) in my collection… Maybe one.. or two.. or three knives? Who knows?
From SAKWiki:
Knives produced after 2008 (also known as model Swiss Army 70) no longer have the year stamped on the tang, as Victorinox took responsibility for the entire military contract supply.
